Lines that the sea doesn't corrode for your marine farming
AGROPET® is a high-tenacity PET polyester cable that replaces galvanised steel wire on rafts, nurseries and mussel and oyster lines. It doesn't rust in salt air, is dielectric and weighs 5 times less than steel. It works for years in full exposure, from −40 °C to +90 °C.
Marine farming
Why AGROPET® polyester in the marine environment
In aquaculture and marine farming (mussel, oyster, floating nurseries, nets and cultivation lines in seawater), galvanised steel is a declared enemy: salt air attacks it, it rusts and stains the product, and maintenance soars. AGROPET® is a high-tenacity PET polyester monofilament that replaces galvanised steel wire and is immune to damp, salt air and crop sprays: not a trace of rust and no loss of load season after season.
It is also dielectric (doesn't conduct electricity, a safety advantage near the water), weighs about 5 times less than steel (1,36 g/cm³) for easier handling on board, and withstands UV radiation and a range of −40 °C to +90 °C. It tensions at 1% with Gripple® or strainers and is tied by hand, is 100% recyclable and is made in Europe by Textil Villa de Pego, S.L. (Pego, Alicante) to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Doesn't corrode in salt air: immune to damp, seawater and crop sprays; zero rust and no staining of the product.
- Dielectric: it doesn't conduct electricity, a safety advantage when working in and near the water.
- 5 times lighter than steel: at 1,36 g/cm³ it is handled and set out with less effort on board.
- UV- and weather-resistant: it withstands solar radiation and a range of −40 °C to +90 °C season after season.
- European, certified and recyclable: made by Textil Villa de Pego, S.L. (Pego, Alicante) to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and 100% recyclable.
