AGROPET polyester cable

Fences and enclosures that don't rust or give shocks

AGROPET® polyester cable replaces galvanised steel wire in rural fences and enclosures. It is dielectric, so it doesn't conduct electricity or give shocks, and it never rusts, not even on the coast or with crop sprays. Zero maintenance for years out in the open.

Fences

Why fence with AGROPET® polyester instead of wire

A fence or an agricultural enclosure is permanently exposed to rain, dew, coastal salt air and crop sprays. Galvanised steel wire pits, rusts and ends up breaking at the points where the coating chips off, forcing you to replace runs every few years. The high-tenacity PET polyester cable AGROPET® is chemically immune to damp, salt air and agricultural treatments: never rusts and keeps its tension and appearance throughout the service life of the enclosure, with virtually no maintenance.

What's more, AGROPET® is dielectric: it doesn't conduct electricity, so it is the safe choice for enclosures alongside power lines, irrigation panels or livestock installations, eliminating the risk of leakages and shocks. It weighs 5 times less than steel (1,36 g/cm³), so a 10 kg coil yields far more metres, is transported and mounted by hand, and is tied without gloves or tools. It withstands UV radiation and works from −40 °C a +90 °C without becoming brittle; at the end of its life it is 100% recyclable. Made in Europe by Textil Villa de Pego, S.L. (Pego, Alicante) with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems.

  • It never rusts: immune to damp, coastal salt air and crop sprays; the fence keeps its tension and appearance with no maintenance.
  • Dielectric and safe: it doesn't conduct electricity, ideal for enclosures alongside power lines, irrigation panels or livestock, with no risk of shocks.
  • 5× lighter than steel: at 1,36 g/cm³, the 10 kg coil yields far more metres and is handled and mounted by hand.
  • Weather-resistant: stabilised against UV and operating from −40 °C to +90 °C, without becoming brittle in frost or dilating in summer.
  • European and recyclable: made in Europe by Textil Villa de Pego, S.L. with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and 100% recyclable at the end of its service life.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about fences with AGROPET® cable

Does AGROPET® cable give shocks like wire?
No. AGROPET® is PET polyester, a dielectric material that doesn't conduct electricity. It is the safe choice for fencing alongside power lines, irrigation panels or livestock installations, as it eliminates the risk of leakages and shocks that steel wire does present.
Does a polyester fence rust near the sea?
No. AGROPET® is immune to damp, salt air and crop sprays, so it doesn't rust or pit like galvanised wire. It is especially recommended for coastal enclosures and areas of high humidity, where steel deteriorates within a few years.
Which gauge do I choose for my fencing?
For light enclosures and plot fences, 3 mm (365 kgf) is usually enough. Standard rural fencing is handled with 4 mm (405 kgf), the most balanced gauge. For main perimeters, long spans or heavy mesh, 5 mm (616 kgf) is advisable.
How much maintenance does it need?
Virtually none. As it doesn't rust, withstands UV radiation and works from −40 °C to +90 °C, the cable keeps its tension and appearance for years out in the open, without the replacement of pitted runs that galvanised wire requires.
How is it tensioned and tied?
AGROPET® tensions at 1% with strainers or Gripple® systems and is tied by hand, without cutting tools or special gloves. As it weighs 5 times less than steel (1,36 g/cm³), the 10 kg coil is easy to transport and mount by a single person.
